[...] There’s a cool article about the phone online that I got a look at this weekend, and it brought back all my memories of the device. I never owned one personally, but a cousin of mine knew a guy who owned an independant Cingular store, when the redesigned N-Gage QD and I barely used it for the time he loned it to me. By this point, I already had a Sony PSP, which while it wasn’t a phone, already had a great library of games and movies which I was enjoying a lot more than a generic golf game on a phone.
Totally agree with you. At the first glance BO look nice, interesting, almost a game like job-hunting application.

BUT since the app have continued bombarding messages on name attached to them, I havent opened the service since the start. I didnt want to be their "marketing pony", after all I havent really understood if BO wa s actually a good service. They lost a one customer plus my contacts.

Thus I am going to stick with LinkedIn instead.

I think Microsoft would argue that they do get some nice revenue from movie tie ins. The issue is always the length of time to market for games v movies.

But hey what would I know :-)

Firstly, it's really hard to comment on the wordpress iPhone view in landscape. I wouldn't bitch about this unless I knew you had a contact with those guys. - seriously this is more difficult than poking a cylon (old school) in the eye.

Ok... I love spotify. It is de facto the best music service out there. The best. Whenever I show it to my US friends they lose their shit. But... the things I dont like about Spotify are details; but they are important details.

1) it's not random access. I'm tied to my shitty songlist choices. I can not play across playlists or rearrange on the go.

2) it's just music in lists. I think it could be more. why don't I see my friends top5 every morning? Why am I not incentivized to share bad ass tracks. Seriously guys you know what my buddies are feeding their brains with.

3) attitude. Yeah. It kinda bugs me to read arrogant things a out the company, even If it is in Techcrunch.

4) Recos. My biggest inhibitor of using Spotify is my own imagination. Feed me. Seriosly, I know that Last.fm is kinda limited, but I've found more new stuff through it than Spotify.

5) Business. It is very hard to say if this is a visble
I know that this feels like complaining that the cake is too sweet, but I think we will look back on this age as a intermediate step towards the way music was set free.

Yes, yes & yes. Especially points 3 & 5 - a major, real-world example on the most effective way to fight piracy. Just like you said, you can't stop people putting music online as torrents etc, but as long as you can make the legal way easier, most will stick to it. Using Spotify is fun, searching for torrents - not so much.
